Product Questions
SIFAA uses a precise 3-stage filtration system:
- Stage 1 β KDF-55 Media: High-purity copper-zinc alloy that removes chlorine, heavy metals (lead, mercury, arsenic, copper), and inhibits bacterial growth through a redox reaction.
- Stage 2 β Calcium Sulfate Balls: Softens UAE's hard water by neutralising excess calcium and magnesium ions β the minerals responsible for dry skin, brittle hair, and limescale build-up.
- Stage 3 β ACF Rod (Activated Carbon Fibre): High-surface-area activated carbon fibre that adsorbs chloramines, trihalomethanes (THMs), VOCs, and eliminates the chlorine odour from your shower water.
- Chlorine & Chloramines β up to 99% removal via KDF-55 and ACF Rod
- Heavy Metals β lead, mercury, arsenic, copper, cadmium (KDF-55)
- Hard Water Minerals β excess calcium and magnesium ions (Calcium Sulfate Balls)
- Trihalomethanes (THMs) β chlorine byproducts linked to health risks (ACF Rod)
- VOCs β volatile organic compounds (ACF Rod)
- Chlorine Odour β completely eliminated by the ACF Rod stage
Basic filters typically use a single carbon stage and only remove some chlorine and odour. SIFAA uses 3 dedicated stages β adding KDF-55 for heavy metal removal and Calcium Sulfate Balls for hard water softening, which is especially important in the UAE where water hardness is very high. The ACF Rod also outperforms basic granular carbon in adsorption capacity.
No. SIFAA is engineered for full flow rate. The filter housing has a wide internal diameter to prevent pressure drop. Over 95% of customers report zero perceptible difference in water pressure.
SIFAA uses model SF-2006B (also known as 20068-0207), manufactured by Ningbo Muxing Sanitary Technology Co., Ltd. Safe for use across the UAE.
Installation
Yes. SIFAA uses a universal G1/2 inch thread β the global standard used in virtually every shower arm. This covers GROHE, Hansgrohe, and the vast majority of bathroom fixtures in UAE apartments and villas. If your shower head attaches via a threaded connection, SIFAA will fit.
- Remove your existing shower head by unscrewing counter-clockwise
- Thread SIFAA onto the shower arm β hand-tight is sufficient
- Reattach your shower head onto the SIFAA outlet end
- Run cold water for 30 seconds to flush before first use
Total time: under 5 minutes. No tools required. View the full how-it-works guide β
Yes. SIFAA fits inline between your shower arm and any type of shower head β fixed, handheld, or rain-head β as long as the connection uses a standard G1/2 thread.

Health & Safety
Yes. SIFAA is safe for newborns, children, pregnant women, and people with sensitive skin or eczema. The filter media β KDF-55, Calcium Sulfate Balls, and ACF Rod β are all suitable for daily family use.
UAE tap water is heavily mineralised β particularly high in calcium and magnesium ions, which cause water hardness. This is why you see limescale on taps and shower screens. This same hardness affects your skin and hair: it strips natural oils, clogs follicles, and leaves a residue that makes skin feel dry and tight after showering. SIFAA's Calcium Sulfate Balls stage specifically targets this problem.
Yes. SIFAA is safe for the whole family including newborns, children, pregnant women, and people with sensitive skin or eczema. The KDF-55, Calcium Sulfate Balls, and ACF Rod are all manufactured to safety standards and suitable for daily use.
Filter Replacement
We recommend replacing the SIFAA cartridge every 3 months for best filtration performance. After 3 months the KDF-55, Calcium Sulfate Balls, and ACF Rod media begin to saturate and filtration efficiency drops. Signs it's time to replace: reduced water flow, the return of a faint chlorine smell, or skin/hair feeling less soft than when you first installed it.
- Unscrew the SIFAA housing from the shower arm
- Open the housing by twisting the end cap counter-clockwise
- Remove the spent cartridge and dispose in general waste
- Insert the new replacement cartridge
- Reassemble and reinstall β takes about 2 minutes
Replacement cartridges are available in our online shop β
The filter media β KDF-55, Calcium Sulfate Balls, and ACF Rod β gradually become saturated and lose their ability to remove contaminants effectively. The filter won't cause any harm, but after 3 months you'll notice diminishing results: the water may start smelling faintly of chlorine again and you may notice your skin and hair feeling less soft than before. Replacing on schedule keeps SIFAA working at full capacity.
